Research indicates that consumption of adequate amounts of CLA as a supplement to the regular diet has demonstrated an anti-Catabolic activity, increased lean muscle mass and enhances performance in athletes. Studies also have shown that CLA supplemented diets may have tendency to curb appetite resulting in low body fat. CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) naturally occurs in various milk products, natural oils and meats. The study found that approximately 3.4 grams of CLA per day is the level needed to obtain the beneficial effects of CLA on body fat.
